ABOUT
The Story of
Hidden Pearl Inn & Vineyard
Nestled among the vineyard-covered hills, Hidden Pearl Inn has a story as charming as the cottage itself. Originally built around 1900 as a grain storage shed, this small story-and-a-half structure once stood on a nearby farmstead. After being relocated and serving for over 16 years as a playhouse and storage shed, its next chapter awaited.
When its former owners were ready to move on, we saw the perfect opportunity to breathe new life into this humble building. With our background in designing tiny homes and a passion for creating spaces that foster rest and connection, we envisioned transforming this structure—rich in history—into a peaceful countryside retreat.
We placed the cottage on a daylight basement to expand its space and guest capacity, comfortably accommodating up to 6 adults. With the help of talented friends and family, we lovingly repurposed original materials—barn beams, shiplap, and floorboards—from this building and another aging grain shed on our property, weaving its history back into the very heart of the home.

A Hidden Pearl
Our name comes from the Petite Pearl grapes we grow—sourced to Liquid Art Winery in Manhattan, KS (only 1.5 hours away and well worth the visit!). But it’s also a reflection of what this place has become: a quiet, meaningful hideaway where guests can unplug, recharge, and reconnect with nature and each other.
We consider it a privilege to share this special place and look forward to hosting guests from all over the world.
With warmest welcome,
Mike & Diane
